Rednesday at Sue Loves Cherries

It's a very cherry world - REDNESDAY. I had a chance to go for a longer walk and get some of the "birdsfoot trefoil" that I mentioned last week. Plus a branch from the hawthorn with red berries. Took the photo on my grandmother's tablecloth - that I love more every time I look at it.
We have a lot of gorgeous acorns- should be enough to feed the deer all winter! As much as I love fall, I don't want it to be here yet. Now if it would just last for 3-4 months and winter was only 1-2 months...but in upstate NY, that's not gonna happen!! LOL
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

  1. Oh I have never actually SEEN birdsfoot trefoil -- wow. My brother had a "vacation" farm in Wisconsin, and he rented land to a local farmer who grew birdsfoot trefoil ... never knew what it was!
Lovely old tablecloth -- you are lucky to have it. And I am NOT ready for fall either -- don't like what comes after it!

  3. Hi Robin. Love your blog. Your background goes so well with today's post!

I would never paint a good piece of wood furniture! I found those already painted though so it was easy to fall in love with them. I do have a few projects waiting for paint but they weren't in good shape to start. My mom walked in and saw the magazine rack and said, "You didn't paint maple did you?!" This acorn didn't fall far from the tree!

  6. Love the birdsfoot trefoil, and I'm wondering now if I could find some around here. But I am not keen on going for a walk in the woods--I just got over a bout of poison ivy! Love the acorns too. The rats with bushy tails, I mean squirrels, are burying them in my pots like crazy!
I'm with you. I am NOT ready to let go of summer yet! It's been such a mild one. I love it!
    Happy Rednesday!

  8. What a beautiful old tablecloth. No wonder you love it more and more.

I see you have a house for sale in Warren Pa, We used to have a camp there a few years back.

I also see you live in the Finger Lakes area....great wine country. We are headed to Geneva this weekend for our yearly wine tour. We usually go to Watkins Glenn but this year have decided to try the other side.

  9. Wanted to thank you for coming by to visit me. It caught my eye that you live in the Finger Lakes area. I have an Aunt and Uncle who live in Geneva. I have never been there though. They come out here to visit often. Love the tablecloth you have there.
